Overdrive as
specified by the Wyldeman hisself!
The MXR Grind and
Clear ZW-44 Wylde Overdrive Pedal performs like Zakk. Whether on
his groundbreaking work with Ozzy Osbourne or with his own Black
Label Society, Zakk Wylde's guitar playing is loud, tough, and
relentless. Zakk's take-no-prisoners attitude extends to his
quest for tone, too. His signature ZW-44 overdrive pedal will
turn your clean amp into a heavy, chunky, crunch machine. Or,
use it like Zakk does and kick it in front of a dirty amp for a
screaming, sustaining lead tone. 3 simple controls output, tone,
and drive make getting up and running easy, so you can
concentrate on your chops.
Get Wylde and
crazy . . . order this mind-shattering pedal today!

Aug 20,
2006 - This really is a nice overdrive. I have it in
front of an Engl Fireball and use it with a Dean axes.
It gives me ultra sustain when the gain channel is on
and the nice Wylde sound, perfect for solo's and lead
guitar play. The only thing is that the on/off switch
let's me down once in a while (i heard this is a common
problem with this OD). Remember this is not a distortion
pedal, but an Overdrive pedal, you will need a
distortion pedal or put the gain-channel up to get this
thing to work as it should! It doesnt work very well
trough the clean channel if youre expecting the Wylde
lead sound...

Aug 15,
2006 - The pedal kicks BUTT! Hands down. All you
people who complain about not getting enough gain don't
understand how to use the thing. It's and OVERDRIVE
pedal not a distortion pedal. And yes there is a pretty
big difference. The Only problem I have with the pedal
is after a few months the switch went bad, and I said
screw it, I love the pedal so much I'll buy another one.
So I did! and this one hasn't gone bad yet. I've had it
since Dec. 05. KICKS BUTT!

Aug 5,
2006 - This is really nice overdrive. I have kicked
in front of A Randall and it screams on it when dirty.
If you Like Zakks sound, this is for you. If you want to
tweak it and find your own tone, it is more than
possible. I have a setup where I just want to riff BLS
and OZZY and I like it just fine. It looks like it could
take a beating on the road, real sturdy. Overall an
outstanding overdrive.

Jun 20,
2006 - I've heard people complain about this because
its not very "extreme" sounding. That's because its an
overdrive, not a distortion. Put it in front of an amp
with the amp's gain cranked up and the pedal sounds
amazing. Tons of sustain, nice harmonics. The tone
sweeps different frequencies instead of just cut and
boost low/high. The switch is true bypass. Very well
built; over all, a boutique quality pedal. The only
thing I don't like is that the ac input is in an awkward
place.

Apr 17,
2006 - In general this is a bad pedal. If you play
metal, the zw-44 won't give you the amount of distortion
you need in order to kick . If you play blues or rock
and need some extra boost go for it.
